The Classic Elegance of Camel
“Elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered.” Giorgio Armani
In January, I seek out clothes that remind me of warmth and elegance. The bustle of the holiday season is behind us and winter looms over us. This is when I look for colors that are as simple and classic as the snow covered trees that line our northern roads.
When I think of classic, I think of camel. Always tasteful, camel looks elegant when paired with black or ivory, but also adds style to gray or any bright color. So settle in with a cup of tea and browse below for some of my favorite camel pairings.
Flattering on all people, camel is a very versatile choice. It pairs well with other neutrals as well as with bright colors. In this set, we have paired it with classic black. In the photo below, I am wearing a black turtleneck, Maurices' DenimFlex super soft jeggings and a beautiful wrap from Ann Taylor: https://www.anntaylor.com/geo-armhole-wrap/522173?skuId=28558620&defaultColor=2222&catid=cata000025&selectedColor=2222
Sara is wearing black pants with a camel fair isle sweater from Ann Taylor as seen here:https://www.anntaylor.com/fairisle-sweater/514154?skuId=28533528&defaultColor=6822&catid=cata000011
Animal prints are very on trend this season and many of them are in shades of camel accented with black. Below, Laura is wearing a chic poncho sweater, black leggings and animal print pumps for a fun and stylish look. A tiger print tank is the main attraction of the next look; she paired it with black pants and a classy black cardigan.
Don't forget the shoes! After a long week of teaching, slip on a pair of tiger print pumps like these and head out for dinner and drinks:
